Greensboro the Beautiful

Hi all,

As my year with AmeriCorps winds down (just 6 weeks left!), I've been thinking more and more frequently about how nice it will be to come home and get back to my "real life." I've really enjoyed my year and have learned a lot, but lately I've been feeling tired and ready to just be in charge of myself.

That attitude had me in a pretty rough place these past two weeks, so I decided I better do something to keep my head and heart grounded in what I'm doing here as I finish up. One of the things I decided to do was to walk around and enjoy the beautiful sights that Greensboro, AL has to offer in the springtime. I took a bunch of pictures for y'all, so please enjoy!

Greensboro, catfish capital of Alabama

the HERO office

me working at Pie Lab :)

Pie Lab

a maple apple & pear pie that I made... mmm

one of my favorite empty buildings.. I want to have a picnic in there

one of the beautiful 1800s homes in town

I'm pretty sure this is the "painting the roses red" rosebush from Alice in Wonderland

I love the colors of this house

there are azaleas of every color EVERYWHERE

another pretty old house with nice landscaping

I'd love to know the story behind this architecture

this house may or may not be owned by cats

Momma would love this house

these people have a DINOSAUR in their yard!

don't you just love pansies?

  1. "Ooh! Tillie! Can I have that house! It has a turret!" -- constant saying from Mama (pronounced trrt)"

Also, I want a dinosaur in my yard.

I also recognize that handwriting in the Pie Lab! Yay!

Hang tough, Nors, you're almost home.
